There are many choices available, but it will begin with the type of construction you have already in place. Two types of cabinet are generally used. Firstly a lay-on or face fitted door. This is the most common type and has a large hidden internal hinge. Then secondly, there are in-frame cabinet doors, that use a butt-style hinge, similar to those on your house doors, but smaller of course. From here, you refine the materials and colours and style of door you’d like to use.
Goto Door DetailsCentral to any upgrade is the use of the space for storage and the ease of retrieval of items within. Facilitating this ease of access is the use of modern mechanisms, storage devices and moving/sliding drawers, drawer-boxes, trays and shelves. Many older kitchens will benefit from newer corner base cabinet mechanisms. And a kitchen is revolutionised with just the upgrade to soft-closing hinges and drawers runners.
Goto Mechanism DetailsThe decoration of doors in a suite of kitchen cabinetry, will be critical to the overall look of the kitchen and your intended interior design theme. There are a multitude of choices in a wide variety of colours and materials. Some designs are without ironmongery but instead, have incorporated integral handles or are handle-less. Sometimes we want the handle to be a key feature piece of the room. Other times we require discreet and non-obtrusive handle to sit back out of main view.
Goto Handle DetailsIt is not always necessary to replace worktops. But when you do, there's a huge choice of colours and patterns, as well as a choice of construction materials. From a hard wearing laminate such as Formica, to rock solid Granite stone fabrications, and seamlessly joined solid acrylic surfaces, we have a worktop to suit all tastes and budgets.
Goto Worktop DetailsIf you are replacing the worktop then it makes good economic sense to change your sink and tap too. These items suffer the most from water damage and wear and tear, so now is a good time to future proof these components. In addition, you may want to upgrade to boiling water taps, taps with filters, waste disposal units for the sink or just a more modern look with accessory fittings for the bowls.
Goto Sink & Tap DetailsYour options for appliances are many. We use a selected range of high quality appliance Brands that we know and trust. In theory, we can incorporate any make and model of your choosing. Sometimes we are asked to change the format of the appliance, in particular the cookware. This often involves swapping a range style freestanding oven for built-in integrated oven – or vice-versa. Or changing the capacity of the fridge and freezer. These items fundamentally affect the design and layout and content of work, so will be discussed in detail at your consultation.
Goto Appliance DetailsLighting can be a misunderstood topic. The subject matter covers a few different tasks. There is central architectural room lighting. Mood and ambience lighting. Work and task lights. And feature lighting. And of course, there's a balance to find between too much, as well as too little lighting in a room. What’s more, a kitchen can end up having all the wrong things illuminated, if not carefully planned. Our designers will advise on the best solution for your room, cabinetry and desired styling.
Goto Lighting DetailsFinally we need to ensure your room works as a whole and is also congruent with other rooms in the house. Whether that be kitchen-diner-lounger-snug, or a patio with bi-folding-door entryway, or just the transition into a traditional hallway. All decorative finishes will be discussed and combined into the interior design theme to ensure a harmonious good-looking end result.
